Sage is a gentle soul who’s learning that the world isn’t such a scary place after all. Once timid, she’s now showing off her silly, happy-go-lucky personality, especially when she’s surrounded by her dog friends!

She’s crate trained, potty trained, and walks nicely on leash (she’s still perfecting her “stay on one side” technique). Sage knows “sit” and has great recall, but like any young heeler, she’ll benefit from continued basic training and confidence building.

While still shy in new environments, Sage has come a long way! She now even nudges her foster’s hand for pets! Head kisses, though, are still a bit too much for this sensitive girl. She’s a quiet companion who settles nicely once comfortable and is happiest when she feels safe and understood.

Sage does well with dogs, cats, and respectful kids, and she’s even been around small animals like chickens and bunnies. With a patient, loving home, she’ll continue to blossom into the loyal, affectionate friend she’s meant to be.

Sage is ready to keep growing in a home that sees her for the sweet, sensitive gem she is.
