Mini Heeler Rescue Operation
March 2025

Over 70 Dogs Saved
On Friday March 20, 2025, Freddie B's Furry Friends Rescue 501c3 non-profit took on what was supposed to be ONLY a courtesy transport for a rescue out of Montana of about 20-25 mini Heelers from a breeder seeking help...well, it unexpectedly turned out to be much more than that...
The situation ended up being Freddie B's Furry Friends Rescue’s first major rescue operation where over 70 dogs were relinquished to Freddie and his team of volunteers and rescued from the hoarding situation, and with the help of several other rescues that came to our aid, placed them in loving foster homes pending being put up for adoption.
The dogs listed here are the ones in our foster care awaiting their Forever Homes, with more to be listed once they’re altered/ready for adoption.
All dogs available for adoption are fully microchipped (Freddie B’s Furry Friends Rescue), vaccinated, and altered.
When filing out the Adoption Application/Questionnaire, indicate where requested the name (if one) and ID # of dog your interested, or indicate “no preference.”
All submitted applications will be reviewed by our team of volunteers, along with the respective dog’s foster, and the top three best matches will be chosen for the next step, which will be the in-home Meet & Greet; a short phone interview prior may be conducted.

Walking is something he enjoys and not to mention the love and attention he most desperately craves. He is loyal once he knows your a part of his pack. He was named after his 15 year old foster sister was playing some Beach Boys and he kept tilting his head almost to say that is what he wanted to be called.

Drax (ADOPTED)
The Destroyer of Squeaky Toys
This pup may be small, but don’t be fooled, he channels big Drax energy. Like his namesake, he’s got muscles (okay, baby muscles), unwavering loyalty, and a surprisingly sensitive soul beneath that tough exterior.
Drax the fictional warrior is known for his literal mind, fearless strength, and deadpan delivery, and this little furball? Pretty much the same. He charges headfirst into every adventure, stares down the vacuum cleaner like it owes him money, and takes his playtime very seriously. Subtlety? Not his thing. Cuddles? He is learning to love them. And yes, he will give you side-eye if you try to pick him up when he’s not in the mood.

Zeke
He is a mini heeler. Per the foster, he is sweet but shy and it will take someone with patience and understanding to help him come out of his shell…he has come so far already. He has went from being shut down to being playful with his foster siblings and coming up to his foster to give kisses and pets.

Aspen (ADOPTED)
Calm and Soft Hearted
Hello, my name is Aspen. I am a calm, quiet, scared blue healer. I am good with dogs as long as they are not scary or aggressive. I was at the bottom of the pecking order and am scared of other dogs my foster brother (golden retriever) ignored me for 2 days and then I slowly started to trust him, and we are friends and play now. I am good with my foster sister Goat she is 9 pounds, and we co-exist well. I am not as good with my foster sister cat. I want to follow her around and sniff her but when I get in her face, she spits at me and then I get scared and get aggressive. I may be ok with another cat that would let me push them around and not get grumpy. I am still scared of my foster people (foster dad, mom and human child age 8) I like to follow them around but and still really scared of being touched I will tolerate it and will go touch them (lick hands feet) I am happy to see them come home and will even jump on them but am still afraid that they may hurt me. I do not mind the small human running around and do not chase or heal her. I do not heal the goat or my dog sibling. I will eat in my crate and go in there sometimes on my own, but it takes a lot of patience and understanding for me to go in on command. I do well on a leash but off leash could be a run risk due to fear. I am looking for a home that will understand I’m scared and love me for who I am. I will use the dog door and do pretty good with my going potty outside this is also a new request of me.

Lucy
Sweet Playful Love Bug
If you want a pint-sized BFF – this is your gal. She wants nothing more than to sleep, sit, or walk by your side. Shy at first, she opens up quickly, She even now is taking treats from neighbors on our walks.
She is currently living with 3 young cats who still like to play. When the cats chase each other, Lucy tries to join in – which can get her hissed at, maybe even swatted at. But when the cats are lounging, they all coexist.

Daisy (Not available)
Loving, Fun, Calm & Independent
Momma Daisy is the perfect mix between loving and independent as well as fun and calm. She is between 4-6 years old and about 21 pounds.
Momma Daisy enjoys her daily walks with her current foster mom and foster brothers and sisters. She has been great with every dog and person she has met. On her walks she is off leash and never strays very far from her foster mom’s heel. She wants to be close to her human but is also ok relaxing on the floor in the same room as her people.
She is currently raising her last baby so it is unknown how she does in a crate for a long period of time but will go in quick for a treat. She is very food motivated and is potty trained.
She is very athletic and can climb a 4-foot chain link fence if you leave her in the yard without you.
She would do great in a home with other dogs or as an only dog. She would love a quieter home to spend her years in and get lots of love and attention. In the morning when she gets up she runs into her foster human’s bed and rolls over on her back to get belly rubs.
She has been around sheep and a goat and sometimes will chase them if she feels she needs to but other times just hangs out. She is easy to call off when she does decide to send them on the run.
Momma Daisy is a super sweet dog with a heart of gold and a nub tail that goes crazy when she gets excited to see her person/people. She will make an amazing addition for the right family.

Huey
Fun Loving Guy
Huey the Huge is a strong-willed fun-loving little guy. Huey was found under a shed at days old with his 4 siblings. One had already passed before they were found and unfortunately the other two baby boys passed in the foster home. Huey on the other hand kept growing and fighting. He is almost 7 weeks now and around 5 pounds. He has the most beautiful silver coloring with black around both eyes.
He loves to be around the other dogs and people in his foster home. He has been exposed to many dogs and has been handled by people since he was days old, so he is very social. So much so that if he is in his room alone, he will let you know he is not happy about it. He loves to play with his foster siblings and is starting to play and chew with toys. His favorite thing is to bite your pant legs when you are walking or “attack” your feet or shoes. He is all heeler for sure.
He is a fun loving, happy go lucky wild little puppy. His future family will need to be active and want to do training with him for his mental stimulation.
He has not started crate training yet but that is on the to-do list for him. He does not like to pee or poop where he lays so we will go away from his bed to use the bathroom. Even though he cannot go outside yet he still sneaks through the dog door with the other dogs so I would guess he will be pretty easy to potty train. He loves food!
If you think Huey would make a fun edition for your family, you are right. He is sweet, loving and snuggly yet fun and wild at the same time.
